I see some issues with this on previous threads. I recently came back to O2 after being away 2 weeks. Signal sucks in my area. I downloaded an esim with my original number but since then my stored contacts come up as Private Number so I don't know if it genuine or not. My answer phone does not kick in to save messages either. I have checked all the obvious, been onto both O2 and Samsung but got no where. Currently waiting on physical sim to see if that cures problem. Anyone have any other suggestions?

That's a strange one. O2 eSIM can  be a pain but usually that's to do with installing.

You say they are sending a physical SIM if that is the case they would normally switch your present SIM off.

From experience I would suggest taking photo ID with you to an O2 shop and doing the swap there. It may take some time for a physical SIM to arrive

This is not O2 and we are all customers here similar to yourself and cannot answer account type queries.

Hi Enlli. Thanks for your reply. Yes it's weird I have tried everything that o2 and Samsung support have suggested but still the same problem. I went over to Spusu for about 2 weeks with their esim and no problems. I think I will do as you day and pop into the O2 shop to install the sim when it arrives.

Don't bother about the SIM arriving, get a replacement at the store.

I did that when the one they were sending to me never turned up after 10 day

Received my new sim yesterday. Inserted and activated , switched phone on and off several times but issue still there. Tried new sim in my old phone and still comes up with Private Number when my wife calls me. I am more convinced it's an O2 issue. I have double checked every setting and can not find a problem. Tried turning off Volte and that has no effect. It looks like I will have to trek into the nearest town with an O2 store. 😪

May be associated with this. Seems to raise its head from time to time

Problem will be getting O2 to acknowledge it and then finding someone who knows what to do.
