Hi,

I haven’t had any service today (cell and data) in Central and East London. I’ve tried restarting my phone but I still get “no service”. I’ve made no changes to my phone or plan.

Anyone else had issues with their service?

Best,
W

Sounds like either the antenna has failed or the phone has been barred. If it was your account at fault, the SIM wouldn't work in the other phone.

@wpmk you can check for network issues here http://status.o2.co.uk/

Some other things to check also https://community.o2.co.uk/t5/How-to-Guides/How-can-I-sort-out-my-network-issues/ba-p/1014088

Thanks for the responses.

It doesn’t seem like there are service outages in my area, nor do I see messages of the same issue when I check Twitter.

I’ve tried the troubleshooting steps like the usual restarting phone and checking carrier settings.

I also tried the sim in my old phone and it seemed to get signal.

Could this be seen as a fault with my current phone or some sort of issue with my sim being used with this device?

Sounds like the phone could be dodgy @wpmk but try a replacement sim from your local O2 shop first.

A little bit more digging. I went to Settings > General > About > Network and it says “phone not allowed”. Anyone know why it would say that?

I pay my bill by direct debit so it shouldn’t be an issue with payment.

P.S. bought the phone second hand but I’ve been using it for 1.5 years without any problems.

Providing an update in case anyone finds this thread useful.

I paid for a CheckMEND report and turns out it got blacklisted.

I got the device from CeX who provide a 24 month warranty on all purchases. As my order is past 6 months old I should be able to get my iPhone 7 replaced or refunded at the current value.

Ordered a new phone from O2.

Unfortunately it did sound like that was the problem.
