Hi all,

Anyone got any tips on how to deal with bad congestion? I live in a small ish town and in a lot of areas I can’t make a call, send a text or use data despite having very good signal (3-4 bars of 4G/ 5G).

I have heard other people complain about this as well (in my area) so I’m not the only one. Additionally when checking the service status in all of the areas where I’m having issues it says “our network can get busy in this area”.

Also I’d like to mention I’m using a new iPhone 15 and have tried multiple in store sim swaps going from eSIM to physical sim however have now decided to settle for a physical sim since I’ve read on o2 forums that people have had data issues with eSIM.

@RGD

WiFi calling ?

May also be useful for reporting issues https://www.o2.co.uk/apps/my-network

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Hi, thank you for your help. I don’t why this answer has been accepted as a solution when I didn’t do so? I appreciate your help and I understand that there’s nothing much more you can do but the answer hasn’t solved the issues.

Only O2 can fix congestion issues by investing in the network @RGD

All we can do is offer workarounds and give you the tools to report issues back to O2.

@RGD You must have clicked the solved button by mistake.... it's easy to do. The OP is the only person who can mark it such

If an area is really suffering with congestion there is not much you can do. Either wait for O2 to increase capacity or try PAYG SIM cards on other networks pending a possible change of network.

Signal bars on a phone are no guarantee of signal quality, only strength

This is not O2 and we are all customers here similar to yourself and cannot answer account type queries.
