How can I retrieve my call log for a previous month please?

Go into your MyO2 http://www.o2.co.uk/myo2
Then view latest bill >> View latest detailed usage and charges >> scroll down to Download and print latest bill which brings up the old style page with the download as pdf link.
You can view the relevant usage online or print it off.

Or you could check your call logs on your phone if you still have them?
