I got the Samsung S25 ultra last week. I have transferred over everything but the smart switch said it can't transfer anything from whatsapp from my S21. I backed up all my data repeatedly on whatsapp and the files are there I think on the S21, but it only copied over some of the media files onto the new phone. I've tried doing the transfer of data so many times, but it gets to 97% and says there's a problem, I've backed up and tried that way countless times too and each time it says it can't bring over the chat history. There's little point in the new phone if it has removed all of my chat history, there's too many memories and things on there from family that's passed away etc to lose it all and I don't know what else to do or how to fix. I've been doing this for days with the same result.

If not
Back up your WhatsApp on the old phone to something like Google Drive.
Then on the new phone do a restore from there

You are always best to back up WhatsApp to Google Drive or your cloud storage provider of choice and then. when you install What'sApp it should pull it down, if it isn't working then that means WhatsApp have an issue with your backup, so it will be best to speak to WhatsApp Support.

I've contacted Whatsapp support and seems this is a widespread issue with the new Samsungs as I've discovered from online searches, whether it be a whatsapp or samsung issue. I'll be sending the phone back as seems there's no resolution for now.

I moved from S23plus to Pixel 9 Pro just before Christmas using back up to Drive method and everything transferred OK
