I need to reactivate my old Sim / mobile number that hasn't been used for maybe 2 years. Is there any way I can do this?
I have a problem where I need a text sent to the old number hence reactivating the Sim, unless there is any other way I can receive from that number?

After that length of time, the number may have been quarantined and then re-issued - what happens when you dial it from another phone, @espr3ss0?
You may find, if not in service, that O2's Social Media team can reinvigorate it, links below are the most useful ways to reach them.
You may find it easier to approach the company you need the number reactivated for, and ask them to recertify you as a customer, and then give them your current number to replace the old one you have since lost. Good luck!

As stated, two years is a long time, reactivations are usually in the first couple of months.
You will have to have a new account to which the number can be attached, so is it worth it for one text?
I assume this number was originally issued on O2 and was not ported in from another network. If it was ported then the number will have been returned to the issuing network

Not a chance for this number to be reactivated
Even if it was possible there would be no historical texts or calls attached to the number
