The phone was purchased from o2 and locked to o2

Spent 3hrs in online chat to O2 support chat online and got nowhere. 6 different clueless agents with an average response time of 10mins between messages. Hoping for better assistance here.

There's no way you'll get a master key from customer service.
It needs to come from Samsung but has to be requested by O2.
Historically our community managers are the only ones who have managed this, hence the tag to @Dave-O2
