Hi,

I currently have a device that is locked into O2 as a carrier.

Soon I will be travelling to Japan on a trip and was considering using another carriers eSIM for data whilst I'm there.

Am I able to use an eSIM for travel even though my device is locked?

Are you sure the phone is locked to o2, as o2 phones have not been locked for at least the last 5 years, and if it is an esim compatible phone it wont be locked..

As such you should be good to go with an esim from another provider
