I Pad 9th Generation upgrade

Morning.

I am due an upgrade and want an iPad 9th generation. Apparently this takes a sim, but is it locked to 02 because I want to use my Vodaphone sim instead of the 02 one that will be sent.

No devices, handsets certainly, have been locked to O2 since sometime in 2018 - I can't see the rules being different for iPad and similar tablet devices, @cheesecake.

That's one saying they have been locked and one saying they haven't. And they told me the community would be helpful.

Read @pgn's advice again. He didn't say they were locked. Just made the point that phones hadn't been locked since 2018, so couldn't see the rules being different for devices. 👍

"Since 1 August 2018, Apple devices bought directly from us are no longer locked. And almost all new devices shipped after January 2019 are now unlocked, with Huawei dongles being unlocked since April 2019."

@Cleoriff Yes I can see what you mean now. Their answer could be interpreted both ways. the phrase "Have been locked" is what threw me.
