As the title really.

I've been with O2 for years but I always have reception issues in crowded places. Glastonbury is just around the corner and I'd like to try an eSIM in my phone as Vodafone is the sponsor so my assumption is the reception will be significantly better

Any O2 phone bought after April 2018 is unlocked to all networks, so yes if yours is newer than that.

If not, unlock it first Guide: Unlocking an O2 phone to use a different SIM card

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Thank you. Does the phone automatically switch between the 2 networks based on signal strength or do I manually have to switch it over somehow?

Both sims are active all the time for receiving.

You can choose in settings which sim to use to make calls, send texts and use data.
