"Echo" on my calls

Anonymous
Not applicable

I thought it was my phone (HTC ONE M8), however it appears to be heppening to other users regardless of the phone.  I have a really bad echo on my calls.  It doesn't matter whether they are incoming or outgoing ......talk about hearing myself speak!!.  Its really off putting so much so i try and resort to using a landline when ever i can. Can anyone shed any light on to the decline in the call quality please.

I have to agree with the mast issue theory as I have experienced it myself from time to time.
You can check your status to see if any issues or maintenance is being reported.
If not I would call CS and report it myself.

Hi

Try turning the phone off and on as this can sometimes resolve glitches.

You could try cleaning your SIM card.

Also try your sim in another phone to see if it's the network.

Check your service status here http://status.o2.co.uk

Some people visit an O2 shop and have their sim swapped out for a new one to help.

Is this happening in one area or all of the time? Have you checked that this is the case away from home/work?

I have experienced an issue like this when the mast local to me was having issues and was only resolved when the mast was fixed.

Just a wild random thought but when the S2 was originally introduced there was a large number of people complaining about echo's which turned out to be due to the phone been in a case....
I guess it's too much for all the people you know with the issue to have their phones in a case of some sort?
