I recently purchased £10 of data (1gb) I had only used less than 100mb of it when my new month started, I have now found out that my data counter has been reset to my 500mb allowance, whats happened to the remainder of the 1gb I paid for ?

It is in the T&Cs that the data bolt on expires on the next billing date and doesn't roll over but make the complaint anyway. They may just offer some form of goodwill.

Log into your my02 app/account and click on your account details and the bolt on section to see if its still there.

Checked there, it's completely disappeared, I'm thinking that any extra data you purchase mid month as extra to your allowance is wiped when you restart your months allowance. If so thats crap, I think maybe a call to O2 services is in order.

You are correct that when your 500mb resets the extra you paid for is wiped not overly fair

Not overly fair is very understated, it borders on criminal theft, I essentially paid £10 and used approx £1 of it, O2 have in essence stolen £9 from me, I will be finding out who the governing body is and putting in a complaint. This just reinforces my feeling to dump O2 come renewel date.

T&C's in circumstances like this are what companies use as an excuse for shoddy business practice. 'tough its in the T&C's you can do nothing' is a common answer unfortunately, I will follow your link and make the complaint so thankyou for that 🙂

Ok, spoken to O2, upshot is that if you dont use
the whole of the bolt on before your end of month then you lose anything remaining, in my case because I bought the bolt on by phone and wasn't told that I'd lose it and I'd used so little of the 1gb that I payed for, O2 have agreed to refund me £7 of the £10.
A lesson people, don't buy any bolt ons near the end of your month unless your certain your use it all.
