so I recently added a second line to my account iPhone 14 pro max.
Device plan £32.51
Airtime £19 a month. This is what's stated in my contract as I've just had a look and it's what was stated on the shop offer when I originally took the plan out which I was happy with.
My bill has come through today and I've been charged VAT seperately as an added charge onto my account.
Next correct me if I'm wrong but I wasnt aware and I can't see anything in my contract or when I took out the contract the price was clearly given and nowhere did it mention VAT being charged seperately and on top of the airtime of £19.
Has anyone else had this issue?

On consumer contracts VAT is always inclusive
Only business contracts have VAT added

VAT is inclusive on all consumer tariffs but you get a breakdown on your bill.
The first bill is always slightly higher due to date alignment. subsequent months are at the standard tariff rate.

Ok. I understand that. But why would it be charged as VAT? As oppose to an extra or a higher airtime tariff for the first month?
My total airtime came to £44.50 (as I have two lines) but then VAT has been added on seperately at the bottom of my bill for £7.59 when I thought it's meant to be VAT inclusive in consumer contracts?

It's always shown separately but should add up to the advertised amount.

I've just spoken to someone via live chat and they confirmed VAT is charged seperately. This wasn't what was advertised online?
I signed up for a payment airtime plan of £18.33 for one plan and £19 for another one. This is what's stated in both contracts and online when I purchased. Now I'm being told VAT is charged on top of this aritimd and it isn't inclusive? Surely that's nonsense?
Is there anyone here who works for o2 who can help?
