hi guys,
iv posted on here before about my 3G not working etc, after contacting o2 recently they discovered my sim was in fact faulty. and sent me a new sim out. they said i could do a sim swap, that way ill keep my number, and all my pay and go services and plan. but this has now confused me....
i have 3 sims for o2. on one i get unlimited calls to any 02 number - which i keep for my mum as i stay miles away from her.
the second is my first sim (the faulty one) which has all my credit, etc on
the third sim is my new sim. now this is where i get confused. iv just went to the sim swap page and carried out all the steps, serial number etc, and it went well, said it will take upto 24 hours to complete....ok......but how do they know what sim i want swapped too???
the sim i keep to ring my mum on i also keep to get peice and quiet from my ex partner. she has the number for the faulty so having the second one is a blessing!
iv put the new sim in my phone already however not yet topped it up, as i was told by the o2 staff member online when swapping, all my credit etc will be transferred for me. i want my old sim swapped to my new one, but i fear as iv been using my other sim for my mum they will assume i want that one swapped instead???
or is this done through IMEI checks? as in, ping the phone, whatever sim replies thats the one to swap??
its a bit of a muddle i know im sorry if im confusing anyone else lol
basically i want my faulty sim, swapped to my new sim, but leaving my "mum" sim alone.
i ask as when filling in the info on the swap sim page, it doesnt ask for the new sims serial number, or the sim you wish to swap to?
thanks in advance for your help on this. i hope im worrying over nothing

It's the same procedure and the network will find the sim when it's in a phone.
