EU roaming - St. Martin

Hi, just wanted to check if there is a more recent update on this - I can see a thread from 2023 but the information on O2 website seems to be different now.

We are travelling to St Martin/Sint Maarten - an island in the Caribbean, and I'm trying to understand if I can use my EU roaming data as part of that. For context, the island is split in 2 - a French side (it is fully part of France and is therefore part of the EU), and a Dutch side (not part of the EU).

The main question is - am I able to use my data as part of EU roaming, if I stick to the French networks on the island? The information on the O2 site suggests not, which seems unusual unless it is an exception to EU roaming?

Otherwise, I assume the spend cap will limit any data usage outside of my plan anyway? Thanks!

According to

https://www.o2.co.uk/international/using-your-phone-abroad

The answer is no, which I guess you have seen

There are a couple of the Carribbean Isle where EU roaming doesn't apply

As we left the EU all such roaming is seen as a concession not a legal right

This is not O2 and we are all customers here similar to yourself and cannot answer account type queries.

@Jamie2391

You will need to pay to use your phone in both parts of the Island, as neither are included in the EU roaming rules

I would recommend looking here https://www.o2.co.uk/international/using-your-phone-abroad

But just from the screenshots below, its expensive

Thank you both for the answers, much appreciated! Will get a local sim out there in that case.
