I am currently on a standard rate for sim only and in no contract I want to cancel this as I’m purchasing a phone from another provider due to it costing less, can I cancel on the day or do you need more notice?.

Hi @LJT

All info on cancellation here

Guide: Cancelling Your Contract

I note you say you 'in no contract'. If you have a sim only tariff, then that is a contract.

https://www.o2.co.uk/shop/sim-cards

Depending on your tariff ie 30 days, 12 months, or 24 months you willl need to pay off whatever remains on the contract.

@LJT
I see, However if you took out a sim only contract, you are still liable for the remainder of that contract.

If you were eligible to upgrade through O2 then you could do that, with no remainder to pay. You have said though that you are going somewhere else as it's cheaper.

Now if you kept the same contract even though it was paid off, and are simply paying for the airtime part of your old Refresh contract, that would be a rolling contract and you would only need to give 30 days notice of cancellation. Please read the cancellation guide I posted above.
