Can't send texts to international numbers

Hi,

I am a PAYG customer and I can receive texts from Irish numbers but I cannot send to Irish numbers. I have sufficient balance in my account but the messages repeatedly fail to send.

What might be causing this?

By any chance are you not using Ireland's international code?

00353

So drop the first 0 from the number your trying to call and replace it with 00353

Eg

0756933120

Becomes

00353756933120

or for saving an Irish number to txt too save it as;

+353*********

dropping the leading 0 from the number

No that doesn't seem to fix the problem. Is there some sort of authorisation required on O2's side to enable international dialing/texting for PAYG customers?

I was previously on a contract and never had this problem

Not as far as I know the only authentication needed is that code.

This is Ireland not Northern Ireland your trying to txt correct?

Have you changed the message centre number on your phone?

Pay and Go uses a different number to Pay Monthly.

Pay Monthly +447802000332

Pay & Go +447802092035

how can i send a text to my friend in the states keeps comeing back as faild im a payg customer any help would be great

How are you sending the text? Have you got the international code and the area code? Are you replying or sending from your contact list?
