Do O2 PayG Mobile Sims Expire ?

Anonymous
Not applicable

I have an O2 dongle (Huawei E160) with a PayG sim. I have had this for a couple of years and use it purely as a backup and if I happen to go anywhere with no wi-fi.

I put it in today to check it was still working and have struggled with my Win 7 64bit to get it working. When I finally succeeded I find that the sim card won't register on the O2 network.

Does the sim get blocked or expire if it's not used for a period of time ? I think it's over twelve months since I last used it.

Thanks

Yes you have to use/top up every 6 months...

Firstly I'd call CS see if it can be reactivated alternatively just pick up SIM and top it up to activate it.

You can pick up a sim at any retailers or O2 store. It all depends whether the nimber has been reclaimed as to whether it's possible to get the sim activated again.

"Your SIM/number will stay active if you make one chargeable call in every 6 months or Top Up in 999 days."

That's what the chat told me a while ago.
