I got a new iphone and after transferring my sim it doesn't work any more. It is detected by the new phone but it doesn't connect to the network. Transferring it back to my old phone doesn't do anything. What's going on?

Sounds like they've forced you onto an esim.

eSIM - How to activate

Might be better off going in store to get a plastic one instead. Take photo ID.

You can't transfer an esim, you need to order a new one

Or call instore with photo ID and they will sort it for you

Personally, for this very reason I would stick to a physical sim to ease transfer to new phones

eSIM - How to activate

You need to contact customer service
We’re just customers like you but it sounds like you’ll need someone to access your account which can’t be done from here. If you message O2 using the links below, they should be able to help you with this
or give them a call on 202 or 0344 809 0202

Did you ask for, or where you sent a new SIM

O2 tend to cut off the old one before the replacement arrives.

This is not O2 and we are all customers here similar to yourself and cannot answer account type queries.

I didn't but after activating my new phone, I received an email from O2 saying "Sim Swap: due to Technology change".
