Samsung Galaxy s2 - emergency calls only

Anonymous
Not applicable

Hi, I have bought a Galaxy S2 and I'm having a few problems....

The phone will connect to the internet with or without wifi, but wont let me call, send txts etc.

I first checked the network and as soon as I click o2-UK it says 'unable to connect. try later'

I have done a complete factory re-set - still noting

I then checked the APN to match with the info on here for o2 Pay Monthly and it was different, so I created a new one and selected it but it keeps bouncing back t o2 Mobile Web (Iv no idea if this makes any difference)

I'm absolutely going mad with this phone!

It is a second hand phone, but I dont understand why I can connect to the internet but cant make, recieve calls or txts and its constantly stating 'emergency calls only'

Can anyone help?

Thank you slight_smile

Firstly check your postcode here: O2 Service Status

Have you tried your sim in another phone? Are you sure your phone isn't locked to another network?

Are you certain the phone isn't IMEI barred?

Then the problem is with the phone, your simcard or your account. You need to try the sim in another O2 phone to point to where the problem lies.

Check the IMEI number on the phone (*#06#) matches the sticker under the battery.....

Can you try another sim in the S2 to prove where the fault is.... it's looking like the sim reader may have an issue.....

the only thing I have noticed is with the APNs that it will only stay on

o2 Mobile Web

mobile.o2.co.uk

iv added o2 Pay Monthly wap.o2.co.uk and select it, but every time I come out of the setting it bounces back to o2 Mobile Web

Could this have anything to do with it?

APN's are for data which is working, nothing to do with calls..... Just press menu >reset network for the correct APN's.
