Ace 4 (SM-G357FZ) no Lollipop but got new 4.4.4

Anonymous

Samsung just announced no Lollipop for Ace 4 but after a reset to factory I got a new Kernel dated May 12. Apart from having the O2 arena in a bigger wallpaper gallery I have noticed no difference. Behaves well as usual. It may have fixed a loss of ringtones problem but I still think it was a rogue app (hence the reset)
Anyone else?

The last O2 update was July 6th which was G357FZO2U1AOE1 so I guess your phone just updated to that.

That's a Samsung update rather than o2. Perhaps @MI5 can confirm that it isn't a generic o2 os ?

It just arrived OTA. It is O2 flavoured, or at least it didn't remove any branding.

Just an FYI,
Last time an in depth guide to flashing / debranding was put up, it was deemed no no.
The above link contains flashing info, that if followed, WILL void your O2 warranty.
To jump the queue of updating the firmware then it will work, but by doing the odin flash method, your warranty and after sales care from O2 will be void and non existent.

That's the PDA - I quoted the CSC which is more reliable, but i's still the same firmware.

Latest O2 branded released 6th July 2015. Build date 12th May 2015.

Any suggestion that I jumped any queue or forced in any ROM should not be entertained. This just happened. I note that one difference is Evernote is now built-in app rather than removable crapware, with the usual dire warnings against its disabling.

No suggestion of that from me. As I said, the ROM has been released by O2 so your phone will auto update.
