i have moved over from EE to O2 due to poor signal.
my number was meant to be ported over last week but nothing until today when EE have turned off my old SIM.
i can make outgoing calls but if anyone tried to call me they get a voicemail saying my EE is not available and to leave a message.
i have spoken to O2 today and no help what so ever.
im now thinking this was a mistake changing over
does anyone else have this issue?

You need to allow at least 24 hours for full changeover.
Keep rebooting.

Moving from EE to O2 for better coverage is an interesting choice, but all the same.
What day was your PAC submitted to O2? It should be ported-in the working day after submission.
In what way were O2 CS not very helpful - can you explain? If you are now an O2 customer and have a service issue, it's ultimately their responsibility to resolve that - and there is no O2 CS via this forum.

Plenty of posts on here to say that's not the case with O2

Well indeed - fair point. It's the industry standard and is certainly the case with at least 2 of the other networks - but appreciate that counts for nothing here!!

If EE have turned off their sim the port has obviously started so it will take a few hours for the O2 sim to fully get on board.
That's normal practice.

Not just o2, just look at all the other network communities... and to be honest never had a port happen the day after the port request..

I can vouch that EE will reliably port-in the working day after PAC submission, I've heard similar reports from VF.
Reading support fora does tend to uncover negative reports of any service, it's the nature of the beast.

My last port was a year ago Vodafone to EE. Port request 15:00 on the Wednesday, completed 12:00 on the Thursday.
I was going to port into O2 but there were so many posts regarding failed ports on here at the time, I decided not to take a chance.

In certain areas of the country and in some localities, O2 are far better than EE. And it also depends on what you want to use your SIM for - O2 are often superior on call quality for indoor voice calls.
I presume that @MattStickels invested in some PAYG SIMs and actually tested out the different networks in the areas that he frequents.
