I wanted to do a Switch Up to the iPhone 16 Plus in my local store but when I called them they said they didn’t have any in stock so I went on the live chat on My O2 where they said they could do the Switch Up there and then and all I’d have to do is collect the iPhone the next day from my local store so I thought that was a great idea and I went ahead with it. I wasn’t asked if I wanted an eSIM during the Switch Up process because I’d have said no, I just prefer a plastic SIM anyway but I’ve got one on my new iPhone although it’s not working, it says it’s there but there’s no service on the phone and my plastic SIM still works in my old phone. Can I just delete the eSIM and just use my plastic SIM or will this mess things up? I’m worried that my old SIM will just stop working. I don’t have a QR code for the eSIM, the new iPhone just already had a plan on it which I found a bit weird.
Thanks in advance!

If the old SIM is working delete the eSIM and instal the plastic one.
Many of us on here are advising against eSIMs due to the way O2 have implemented things causing problems
