Hello.
Just been migrated over from VM this month and am trying to connect my Wi-Fi only iPad to Wi-Fi extra on the London Underground. Have followed the instructions online and registered for O2 Wi-Fi at a hotspot and according to the instructions I should be able to connect to Wi-Fi extra 24 hours after doing so. Its been nearly 2 weeks now and still not able to connect. This is highly annoying as I was able to connect previously when the Wi-Fi was provided by VM and as I work on London Underground stations I would like to be able to connect my iPad.
I contacted O2 using online chat and was assured that a Wi-Fi only iPad would connect once registered to O2 Wi-Fi. I have also called O2 on the 7th June and was promised that I would get a call from the Tech team within 5 days but this also has not happened.
I really wanted to ignore all the negative comments regarding O2's poor customer service and hope all would be good but this has not been a good start. Please help.

@Barty2277 The WiFi Extra service has been shut down on the underground. 4G and 5G will replace it:

Hi Bambino, thanks for your reply however I feel it’s not accurate as I can connect to WiFi extra with my phone automatically when on the underground. Having read other posts I think it is to do with trying to connect with a simless device even though O2 said it can be done.
Here comes my first complaint to customer services. Thanks again for your assistance.

WiFi extra requires a sim to connect.
You cannot connect a device without a sim.
The best you can do is tether from your phone if your phone allows WiFi tethering.
