Yes if it takes the message over the 480 character count.

It depends if your phone does some funky stuff with the message, as normally you are not charged extra for emojis.. 

If you are worried use WhatsApp, Signal, Telegram or even Facebook Messenger...

its only 1 line of text with one emoji, i dont normally do them in texts as im aware you used or still do get charged

Turn on character count and if it's below 480 there's no additional charges.

so i turned on character count and it was 52/160 then i added my emoji after some more text and it went to 77/70, so i take it that means i would be charged for sending it like that?

Under 480 characters and it will not convert.

ok thanks, its strange, ive turned off mms in the settings but when i type a line of text to say 46/160 then add an emoji it goes to 48/70 and every consecutive emoji after that just adds 2 to the left number and the right number just stays at 70 😕
