I have been a O2 customer for over twenty years and always get the best deals. Soon as O2 put up my bills I used to get a cheaper deal via USwitch, as an existing customer which was an option when they sent you to the O2 site.

Last year I didn’t bother as it only went up 70p, this year however it’s going up £1.70 or 20% which is a disgrace. How when I try and get the USwitch £8 deal it doesn’t offer the existing customer box only a new contract. Now I am going to have to waste time phoning O2 to get the £8 offer or if they won’t change to the Vodaphone deal USwitch are offering. Companies treat loyal customers as cash cows, already had to get Sky snd Virgin to drop there renewal prices, now O2.

There has been an issue with Uswitch and selecting Upgrade on O2 purchases for a few days now, going by reports here on the forum, @DavidD1 - it may resolve itself in a few days, and may have arisen as the mandatory £1.80 annual rise is now in effect, confounding the value handed over to your MyO2 from Uswitch.

I have read other offer sites, eg Moneysupermarket, are having similar issues with O2 "upgrades" currently. Try again next week, and reach out to Uswitch, rather than to O2. Good luck!

It would seem that after four or five of us took advantage of the £8.00 upgrade offer that O2 have closed that route to dodge the £1.80 increase

It may or may not just be a temporary step from O2....
