Shared masts with vodafone

Anonymous
Not applicable
Hi all
I've spent a bit of time in Penzance and the o2 signal is so poor. Having spoke to o2 they told me that I should be able to use Vodafone as they share masts but to select in manually. I do this and get no service. I'm on an iPhone anyone got any ideas?

O2 may share masts but they don't share network. Sometimes they put an O2 cell on the mast but you can't connect to Vodafone.

Ridiculous. Customer service seem to be making it up as they go along these days.

@Anonymous the idea behind mast sharing is that o2 and voda hang a transmitter on the same tower and that's as far as it goes. Both these transmitters are connected to separate backhaul systems so logging into a voda signal is not a viable proposition I'm afraid.

In places where shared bandwidth may be available there is no need to manually select another network either.
