Hi All,

Be aware that turning off roaming does not stop receiving text messages and possibly calls. On my arrival in Morrocco I made sure roaming was off, however I still received 10 text messages  from my son ( which were all unnecessary!! ) and it cost me £2.00/ text =  £20, almost double my monthly bill.

I have been advised that I need to put airplane mode on to stop it, is this correct ? Also with airplane mode on, can I still use WiFi ? Ie, in the hotel.

@Neil21

Yes you can.

The setting on your phone for roaming is in the data settings (clue is there) and texts are free to receive, so you must have replied to them to be charged.
