Missing calls yet have a signal

Anonymous
Not applicable

I am missing calls from people that ring me since I up graded to Iphone5 with new nano sim. I have signal bars but my calls go straight to "your call cannot be accepted at the moment blah blah blah" the caller then sends me a text to tell me about the reply I am getting. I have to switch on airplane mode then off again and if that doesn't work I have to switch my phone on and off again to get it to work. Can anyone help with this.

Thing is if it is the carrier at fault. You may find its only on the tower that services your house.(with issues)

Jonsie has a good idea you could just go to apple and explain they'd swap the phone out would rule out a hardware issue. Save trying the sim adapter.

Try restoring your Iphone. Just to rule out a software conflict.

Are you doing anything on your phone when the person attemps to call? App/web?

Try a hard reset by holding the home and sleep buttons until the Apple logo appears.

It's usually my kids because they are the ones that try the other number I have. So I don't know who else I miss as it doesn't go to the answer service to leave a message. It is intermittent yes

Just read on the gsm recordings that could mean there is a hardware issue (phone) or over congestion at the switch board.

Would these problems happen around the same time normally?

Hmm sounds as though the gsm theory might be right:(

Do you have another handset you could try the sim in? Just to rule out your phone being at fault.
