Can someone PLEASE help me.

Sep 23 I took out a new contract with a new mobile from an O2 shop.

I was told I was entitled to a ‘free’ gift - a Samsung Galaxy lite tablet. I said I didn’t want it but the sales assistant said if I didn’t want it I could sell it.

So I took it, & sold it a few days later. (I also gave the sim card the shop gave me)

Now my O2 bills are showing that I’m being charged £4 a month for a number I didn’t recognise - on investigating my bills further it is the tablet I’m being charged for.
I’ve been back to the store & the assistant, then the manager said there is nothing they can do.

I’ve emailed O2 & have still had no response after 12 days.
Can anyone advise me what to do please? (I’m not tecky minded)

The Tablet would have been free, but you have to pay for the sim card, and unless you can prove you where not told this, as it will also be on the receipt as well that there is a monthly charge of the data plan..

And as it has taken you nearly 6 months to realise I am sorry to say, it wont wash with anyone, as you should have queried it at the time, or within 14 days..

A complaint to o2 will take 8 weeks to have a response. and Customer Services wont touch it with a barge pole.

If you know the number of the SIM that you were given, you could try ;-

Guide: Cancelling Your Contract

However, you need to bear in mind that :-

1. you have probably inadvertently signed up to a contact for a set period of time for that SIM, so cancelling it might trigger a bill.

2. if you have sold the tablet with SIM, the buyer might pursue you if you cut his data off.
