Apple Watch Series can also be used without enabling the built-in cellular feature, in which case it functions like a GPS-only model

Your daughter wont be able to use any of the Cellular Functions with Virgin Mobile as they dont support the Apple Watch.

It will all be done by Bluetooth.

You will also need to take out a contract with airtime for the apple watch from o2.

The watch isn't locked to O2 to it will be tied to your account, so you'll need to call O2 to de-link it from your number.

The watch data plan is optional so no need to pay extra for it.

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

@MI5

If you want to add it to your contract and pay monthly for it, they wont sell it without an airtime contract,

o2 are giving 6mths free airtime so you save £5 per month on a refresh contract and the upfront cost if £50+ is reduced to zero, just check o2 Priority for the code.

They wont even sell you the watch 6 outright without taking the airtime contract, but you can cancel after 1month although you get 6mths free

edit to add additional info slight_smile

Watch will still do everything the same as long as her phone is in range. It just won't work at all if she goes out without her phone.

@madasaf1sh

Thanks for info. That's something new as it never used to be compulsory to buy airtime up front.

When I bought mine, I had to set it up from the watch app and agree to the payment from there.
