Apologies if this is the wrong place.
last week I purchased an Apple Watch 9 Stainless Steel online to collect in store. A week late I decided I actually want the Apple Watch Ultra. I checked the returns policy and it said I can return in store. All I wanted to do is exchange the device one time for the Ultra. The store processed the return and took the watch.
he then did the ultra and I got declined. I was not aware of the credit check the returns part of the website doesn’t mention a credit check except for new customers.
I’m wondering as the AW is still showing on my account if I should wait until it’s taken off then retry again?

We usually advise to leave it a month before another credit check as they often fail if tried sooner.

I would have done it I knew. The website makes it out that I can exchange the device.

A credit check is done again as the value of the Ultra is a lot more than the Series 9, and as such a new credit check is required, and as such as credit check is required to make sure you can afford the increase in monthly cost, and technically you are starting a new contract..

Everyone gets credit checked for all changes now.
Never used to be that way at all, but it all changed with the Virgin merger.

The website is not fully up to date then. I thought I would have fallen under the existing pay monthly customer.

Very little of the website is up to date.
Mostly incorrect or open to interpretation.
