unable to send texts or make calls from Italy

Hello,

         I'm hoping someone can offer help with a weird problem....

Last week I was in Italy (using an Iphone 12 mini with an O2 pay as you go Sim).

On arrival in Italy I was greeted with the O2roaming announcement - "Welcome to Italy. Calls to the UK and within our Europe Zone are charged at the same rate as your UK tariff" - all good so far....

  Until I noticed that Google maps where not working ; then I realised could not send  texts or make Phone calls . However, I was able to receive Texts !? (the Italian provider was I-TIM). This situation continued for the whole week..

   Now back in the UK phone works fine....

Any thoughts ideas? - I don't really want to go without a Phone for my next visit!

It could be an Issue with TIM or it could be a roaming block on your account

If you message O2 on Facebook (https://o2uk.co/O2CFB) , Twitter (https://o2uk.co/O2CTW) or Instagram (https://o2uk.co/O2CIG) , they should be able to help.

Thanks for taking the time to reply. I think a back-up SIM will be accompanying me on my next trip...!
