I am on a legacy "Your Country" tarif because it suits my needs. Recently, I saw in the news that 3G network is being phased out. I normally use 3G. However, recently (withing last year and a half) I started noticing problems with my 3G coverage and poor internet in places. I even went as far as replacing my SIM card for a newer one. This had a modest effect. I wanted to start using 4G network on my iPhone 11 Pro. But 4G never turned on and only appears as 3G. An O2 support representative was not particularly helpful and suggested to go pay monthly and change tarif and didn't want to listen that I was on “Your Country” for a reason. Could someone help to understand how to make 4G happen?

No idea what the T&C's are around that tariff. It may not even be 4g capable but check you have 4g set in the network settings.

Your best bet is to pop into an o2 shop with Photo ID, and just play dumb, and ask for sim swap to a 5G sim card, do not mention the "Your Country Tariff" at all...
No 5g PAYG sims so might be a bit difficult.
