Is it possible to transfer a number from O2 to another provider but keep the O2 account running with another number (either newly minted or transferred in from another provider)?
To explain, I currently use O2 as my main number (the only one I give out to anyone) with Smarty as a secondary. I'm considering switching the main number to Smarty and using O2 as secondary (there are areas near home that get a usable O2 signal but nothing on Smarty). I am on O2's PAYG "Classic" tariff which is ideal for such occasional use as there's no need to top-up regularly. That plan is now only available to those already on it though, so I'd rather not do anything that means losing it. I don't suppose there's a way to swap the two numbers over but only the O2 number is important so I could just abandon the Smarty number if a new number is created on O2.

Sorry, If you move the number off the PAYG Classic you will lose it and it cannot be replaced..
Same if you wanted to transfer the Smarty Number, that too will close your Smarty account

Fair enough, I suspected as much but thanks for confirming.
