I'm going to America tomorrow and want to know what I need to do to my phone so I don't incur charges. I have O2 travel as part of my pay monthly contract, my wife doesn't. We know she needs to activate the O2 travel and will be charged at £6/day but what do we both need to activate/deactivate on our phones ie data roaming/mobile data so that we don't pay extra?

@Siamlauren Bear in mind that O2 throttles their data speeds to 500kps, which is exceedingly slow and doesn't allow you to do much of anything as far as roaming is concerned. You'll be lucky to be able to check your email. See the Terms & Conditions here:

https://www.o2.co.uk/termsandconditions/mobile/o2travel-paymonthly-terms-and-conditions

Use WiFi as much as you can or get a local Pay & Go sim from AT&T or T-Mobile if you're going to need internet access.

I DO NOT WORK FOR O2
