Use wifi where possible or use a Spanish network SIM to avoid roaming charges.

O2 is owned by Telefonica, a Spanish telecom company. Why aren't you using a local Telefonica network if you're living in Spain?

I DO NOT WORK FOR O2

That wouldn't help as it's a separate company.

Yup, O2 although owned by Telefonica, is presented as a standalone company. Even O2 Ireland, O2 Germany, O2 Czech Republic are all run as standalone companies. Using those networks in each of those countries doesn't get you away with roaming charges.
