Unlocking an o2 phone from the network

I need a phone unlocking code, after being on hold for an hour with customer service and provided wrong codes almost to fob me off. A phone needed to be used as a spare phone is locked to o2 and needs an unlock code which had a form filled out on Monday without being followed up.

Edit: If your phone was purchased after August 2018 it shouldn't be locked.
