to cancel a sim card

i wish to cancel my sim card ,i rang this morning as was told i could cancel my sim card as o2 wont work in my work place ??so i have a new sim and wish to cancel this o2 sim i can nor ring as my new sim is not o2 so i carnt ring to cancel ??failing ...
