Turn PIN2 code request off

Anonymous
Not applicable
Hi all,
I'm trying to turn pin2 code request off as a new phone I have won't work with it on. However, I type my pin2 code in and get the options to turn on or off pin2 - however, selecting off doesn't work.
Please note - I know the pin2 code, that isn't the problem. I'm trying to turn pin2 code request off. Every time I select that option it says 'code error' on my phone.
Does anyone know any more? Thanks for any help.

What is the handset?
Have you tried turning it off, using the old handset?

Yes, I am using the old handset now and that is what I was using to try and turn it off.
The new handset is one of those peel 520 things that turn ipods into iphones (sort of). Goes great with my orange sim but can't get it to work with the o2 sim as it has a pin2 on (which I need to turn off).

That error means that the SIM is reporting the PIN2 is incorrect.
I can think of some possibilities, it may be that PIN2 has been changed / is different than you remember. Its also possible (but unlikely) that there is a fault with the security module in the phone or the SIM is faulty. Normally the last two would be detected on boot up.
I would obtain the PUK2 from O2 so that when your attempts are exhausted you can reset the PIN2. Failing that you'll need a replacement SIM.

Thanks for the reply but I don't think that is the answer. If I get the PIN2 code wrong then it won't let me get past the stage of entering it. It comes up with code error if I get the code wrong.
I'm guessing that it is an O2 thing and they don't allow the PIN2 code request to be turned off.

The code is 'checked' when the request goes to the SIM.
I think you are going to have to get the PUK2.

I am having the exact same problem with my Nokia 2630.
I have recently been given a new 3G SIM card, would this be anything to do with this issue do you think?

I think you are going to have to get the PUK2.

I got a PUK2 code and have already changed my PIN2 code and the error still appears when trying to turn the request to off, so getting a PUK2 code won't really help.
