Mobile Phone Security

Who has access to mobile phone data?

e.g. During general usage of Mobile what data can be accessed by the Police or any other legal authority.

It has been know that those involved in a motor accident whilst using their mobile can be prosecuted for the accident, it being proven from Mobile records that it was being used at that time.

What other information is available?

The number being called?

The details of that conversation or in fact details of a text message?

What other authorities have access to the Data?

Well in this day and age where our every movement is tracked by CCTV and your position at any one time can be tracked to your mobile signal it would be naive to think that calls and data are not monitored by government bodies and their agents.

There have been quite a few 'alarming' articles over the past couple of years :

Certain "keywords" that get sent in text or emails automatically get flagged, so I would guess everything is monitored to some degree. Maybe not by a human but certainly by computers....

We got to keep the boys and girls at GCHQ in a job.

And it's not just legal/government bodies, Apple log all text sent via iMessage as an example. There are probably 100s more.

Privacy is dead these days despite what some would like to believe.

If you have something private to say, it's best done in person in a secluded area.

I don't believe any organisation has permission to check your phone without warranty. Or suspicion of illegal activity.

However there's nothing they can do if they don't tell anyone!

the sadest part of these plans to store these vast amounts of data on online activity is they're based on people who cannot use computers. If you really want to hide your presence online its incredibally easy and too difficult to track. Phones are somewhat harder but are still possible.

Nothing sucks more than that moment during an argument when you realize you’re wrong. So Ive been told wink
