Hi, I downloaded an app for work's HR not long ago.  I didn't use it that I can recall, and when Imore recently wanted to, found it was gone!  I tried to get on my phone again but a message pops up, whether on computer or phone, telling me that it's not compatible with my device.  I've been advised to update.  Under "software update",the "last update" is 15 August 2023, "download and install" says it was last checked two days ago.  "Auto download over Wi-Fi" has been on.

Mobile phone is Galaxy A20e, SM-A202F/DS, Android version 11, One UI version 3.1.

Is the problem my phone or the app?

I would think that the phone is the problem as the app would have been updated

In the description on Playstore it should tell you which system is needed to use the app

As the phone is over 5 years old and running old OneUI then I would think that is the issue

You don't say what the app is but the fact Play Store saying it's not compatible sounds like it has been updated since you last downloaded it

As @jonsie says if you go into Play Store it should say when it was last updated and list the minimum requirement.

@starfish

Android 11 is now out of support and to be honest is 4 soon to be 5 versions out of date,. sorry to say but time to upgrade...
App Developers especially when handling PII data are forced to drop support for these old versions to retain compliance..

My advice - buy an upto date phone..

This is not customer services and we dont have access to your account
I do not work for o2 or any VMo2 /Telefonica/Liberty Global Company

Quite frankly I would never have anything on my phone for an HR department. The least they know the better

Thanks.  I don't need it badly enough to have to buy a new phone, so I'll leave it for now.
