HELP PLEASE!!!

Hi, I was sent my bill for this month on th 8th and noticed it was far too high. I rang O2 spoke to a nice girl for almost an hour and she sorted it all out for me and assured me of the amount I would need to pay. Fast forward to today and the orginial incorrect amount has been taken out of my bank account.

I am so upset after spending so long sorting it out already with O2 and now have to do it again. Even if they refund it it wont be straight away and I have two young children to keep entertained over the summer holidays and money is tight.

I really think I will leave O2 after I sort this out, I just feel so let down by the pooe service I have recieved - its not the first time.

Rant over x

Every reason to rant. O2 seem to have a problem adjusting their direct debits and taking incorrect payments for cancelled and/or returned goods.

They let themselves down, harm their reputation and give people no confidence that they will carry out agreed actions. I would be demanding the over-payment be returned to my account immediately although O2 will ask you to contact your bank to get the money clawed back as it is 'quicker'. Utter nonsense. If O2 use the correct fast track payment or use the CHAPS payment system, the money could be back in your account in two days, three days max.O2 try not to use this method as it costs them a £20-30 fee and they will be enjoying the interest on your money while they have it.

Rant over, but it really annoys me when O2 make light of an amount that can cripple a lot of peoples' life style.

If it's a direct debit payment then the fastest way to resolve this is to make an indemnity claim with your bank, this will get your money back in 24-48 hours. o2 (and many other companies) will usually take about 2 weeks to refund a direct debit payment as they wait to make sure it's not been claimed back by indemnity first.

Once you have your money back just make a one off payment to o2 with a debit/credit card of the correct amount. Ensure this is done asap as if the money isn't in place the system will quickly pick up on it and think you haven't paid, this could affect your credit rating.

Hiya, Thanks, they advised me to do an indemity claim but said that despite having credited me an amount of money previously it would then take off for the most recent calls. It ended up being very complicated so I have opted to leave the payment and have an extremely small bill next month and have received assurances that my tariff is now correct... we shall see!! The people I have spoken to have all been extremely nice, its just no one seems to follow thru with anything they promise!

You've got to be joking, you are using capital letters, punctuation, paragraphs and clearly explained your problem, that's much more than many posters can manage! grin

We all make typing errors!

Glad you had a good outcome.
