iPhone 5 not connecting calls :-(

Anonymous

Hi There

I have an iPhone 5 ordered through carphone warehouse last November.  More and more i am experiencing an issue where calls won't connect (line is silent and if I speak into the mouth piece I can hear my voice) I have to dial a good couple of times in order to dial out and people sending texts/imessages/calls cannot seem to connect and I get a text message from o2 saying that I have missed calls.  Phone calls have also been breaking up and I have to call back again so the other end can hear me.

In all instances I have had good to excellent signal strength on my phone and I have tried to restore the iPhone a couple of times now and it has not worked...

Help?!

Your nearest Apple Store may be in Buchanan Street, Glasgow - I'm not sure if there is one over in Edinburgh?

So it may be worth your while trying a new sim card? It sounds like it is possibly a faulty phone, but it's worth a try anyway - saves you going all the way to Apple for them to tell you it's just a sim card.

Or, as said above, you can take the phone into CPW and they'll test there what could be the issue.

It sounds like the phone has developed issues. Check for any known problems in the area @ http://status.o2.co.uk/

It may well be worth making an appointment at your nearest Apple store but failing that then take it along to CPW for advice.

Check the usual by cleaning your nano sim and pressing the power button and home button until the apple logo appears which is a hard reset.

I would go with seeking assistance from apple.

Unfortunately the network shops tend to batten down the hatches when they realise your a customer with a possible defective handset ,and start quoting repairs !

if it is happening in all those places then an apple genius appointment would be a good idea to rule out hardware faults.

Cheers guys! I actually need to go over there to pick up a new Mac mini to run as a home server so might push that
Forward a few weeks. I suspect they'll swap it out - they had done previously with my 4s
