travelling in Australia, message on phone saying 'sim network unlock PIN' what do I do?

Just thought, perhaps you've visited Oz and are using a different SIM in your O2-branded device..?  If that's the case it won't work until you get the device unlocked.  O2 offer an on-line service for free if you're on a contract with them, but it can take a few days (they say up to 28 days!)  Or you can pay for other on-line services or visit a store and pay them to do it for you.

Hi there,

 

I'm guessing you've previously had your device unlocked, or a previous owner did..?  Given the message it would appear the device has become locked again to its original provider.  If this is something you're fully aware of and still have the original unlock code then you could try keying it in, else you may have to visit a store or look on-line for an unlock code (perhaps not easy given where you are..?)
