Daughter has iphone 8, ios16 and pay monthly sim.

All has been fine and working as expected for 12+ months.

She recently wen to germany, phone worked in UK, in france but then not in blgium and germany.    Its has since, still not worked.   We get 'no service' message.    When looking to solve the problem i notice that the 'network selection' option is missing .......settings=>mobile data=>network secltion.

The only other thing she has done (i believe aroudn the same time) is 'reset statistics' within the 'mobile data' section.

I have rebooted hone

reset network settings

any ideas appreciated!

Check for any software updates and install anything available.

Also try a soft reset. Press vol up then vol down then hold power key until Apple logo appears on screen.

Thanks for the reply....

All software updated and nothing missing.

Tried the soft reset but still no change (and menu item missing).

(btw - have tried the sim in a different phone and it appears to work?)

Probably needs backing up to iTunes or iCloud and a factory reset then.

Apple next then to get the phone checked for faults.

https://www.apple.com/uk/retail/geniusbar/

If no sim works at all in the phone it's either faulty or barred.
