Samsung gt-i8150 problems holding charge

Anonymous
Not applicable

Hi,

Last November (2012) I entered a year long contract with 02 for a samsung galaxy wonder or Samsung gt-i89150. For the past few weeks my battery has not been holding charge for more than 20 minutes so I took it into the store with the assumption that they would replace the battery or fix whatever problem I had. However, even though I pay an extra £6 a month for insurance O2 have said, without any evidence, that it is my fault the battery isn't working. The reasons they state are as follows;

  • I have used the phone whilst charging
  • I have left the battery out in the sun (not the whole phone just the battery)

and I will therefore have to pay £45 for them just to install a new battery.

I wanted to know if anyone else has experienced the same issue, either with the same phone or any other contract.

Thanks.

Vicky.

Warranty on batteries is only 6 months from date of purchase, so you would be better off just getting a new battery off ebay. It sounds like a load of rubbish the store is telling you regarding battery use but unless it's an actual phone fault that is draining the battery it's out of warranty. If you try another battery and it still does the same, then you can demand that the phone is repaired under warranty.

Vickynes. I recently looked on Ebay re batteries for all Samsung phones. Their prices range from £5-£10 brand new (which is a great difference to the £45 you were quoted from O2!)
