Why can't my laptop connect to personal hotspot on my new iphone 16

I used to use my personal hotspot a lot and I've recently changed my phone and my laptop is saying it can't connect.  I've done the switch off and on again on both devices. I have removed and re-added my personal hotspot on my laptop available networks. Maximise compatibility is on. I have tried with a USB connection. O2 have assured me its not to do with my contract, but I am struggling to find any reasons why it can't connect so any suggestions are really welcome. Thanks!

Can you connect another phone to your hotspot as this will tell you if the issue is with phone or laptop?

If you are using an iPhone, do you have iData enabled on your account?

What do Apple say? It won't be an O2 thing

This is not O2 and we are all customers here similar to yourself and cannot answer account type queries.

Thanks for this - iData is enabled and I can connect another phone to my laptop - but I'll try to connect a phone to mine. Thanks for your help.

@CarolineP

But have you actually asked O2 if you have iData (or data for iPhone) as there is no way for you to actually check this yourself.
