Does everything else work on her phone ie texts, calls and data?

If so tell her to reboot the phone (turn it on and back on again) See if that works.

If not she needs to call O2. If on contract it's a free call and the number is +44 7860 980 202

If she is using an iPhone, ask her the change the data apn to "mobile.o2.co.uk"
