Trying to port in my number from SKY to O2. It keeps failing with the following error "Phone Number is in inappropriate state (Soft-reserved)". O2 has escalated it to the porting expert team.

Don't have a clue what this means. Anyone have any ideas?

Porting in 3 numbers. 2 of them went through fine. It's just the one that's causing problems.

Thanks

Seems like an issue that has been going on for a while @Kamal80

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Do you have a balance on a handset left to pay @Kamal80 ?

No I haven’t. This is a sim only deal. My contract with SKY is also sim only.

Is it a memorable or 'premium' number @Kamal80 ?

Calling or social media would be recommended @Kamal80 - live chat are known to be a last resort on the community!

Still not resolved. Been chatting on social media almost everyday and keep getting the same response.

Sounds like the O2 porting expert team  operates in the same manner as the O2 complaints team, @Kamal80 - with no sense of urgency. I wonder if the affected number was ever used, unbeknownst to you, by scammers at some point, resulting in the number having been reported to 7726 - https://www.ofcom.org.uk/phones-and-broadband/scam-calls-and-messages/7726-reporting-scam-texts-and-...

Good luck anyway, @Kamal80.
